Imagine you are writing a paper or an essay on the dangers of head impact injuries in sport. For this task you need to carry out a significant amount of research and include a number of references from several different relevant sources.

    All of the texts are useful and relevant. If you read carefully, you can see clear links between them and places where content supports or contradicts that of another text.

    For example, you might be able to find a connection between the work being done at Boston University and the investigation by the FA commission in the UK.

    You can also see that many articles may be excellent as a starting point for more detailed reading; they may present the sources that you are looking for as opposed to being the sources themselves.
